Overview
A single dental implant replaces one missing tooth from the root up. A biocompatible titanium post is placed into the jawbone to act as an artificial root; once it fuses with the bone (osseointegration), a custom crown is attached on top. Unlike a bridge, it does not require grinding down the healthy teeth on either side.
